National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
24, 25, 26, 27, 28 June 0900-1630 at Westonbirt School
The NPLQ trains candidates to supervise busy swimming pool environments and upskills candidates with the ability to respond to emergencies with appropriate first aid and aquatic rescue skills.
The course is a five-day course that requires 100% attendance and is delivered by an experienced trainer with over 20 years of industry experience, ending with an assessment of both theory and practical skills on the Friday.
The RLSS NPLQ is the industry-leading lifeguard qualification, with successful candidates ready to enter into the leisure industry with 95% of all swimming pool lifeguards trained under the RLSS banner. The NPLQ is great for enhancing CVs, university applications and also carries 8 UCAS points for successful candidates.
Lunch will be provided on all days.

Lifeguard Course Prerequisites
Every candidate attending a NPLQ course must be 16 years old or above at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment and be able to:
• Jump/dive into deep water
• Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
• Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
• Tread water for 30 seconds
• Surface dive to the floor of the pool
• Climb out unaided without a ladder/steps
