Summer - Discover 3-day Hockey Camp

Who? All children aged 7 - 14!

Price: The Hockey Masterclass cost is £60. Book individual days or three days for £165.

A 3-day intensive Hockey Camp, powered by Discover Camps and lead by former World U18 Club Championship winner and England Masters player, Paul Robinson. Hosted at Westonbirt School’s state of the art Astro, and open to all intermediate and developing players, camp attendees will work on fundamentals, develop their key skill be well prepared for the hockey season ahead.

Meet The Coach

Paul Robinson 

When a junior at Havant Hockey Club, lead coach Paul Robinson was part of the U18 team that won the National Club Cand World Club Championship in Sydney, Australia. By this time, he had already become a regular in the National League and in 2005, went on to the join the Army where he has been a regular player for a variety of UK Armed Forces and Army Hockey Teams. He coached the Ladies to their highest National Indoor League finish and won both Armed Forces titles before becoming a senior sport science lecturer at The University of Chichester. In recent years, he has represented the England Masters over 35s and over 40s. Paul will be supported by qualified coaches.

Day 1

Players will focus on foundational techniques, including first touch, evading opposition, defensive positioning, and footwork. The day will conclude with small sided games and goal scoring to apply these skills in a game setting.

Day 2

Players will develop technical skills with an emphasis on refining hitting techniques and attacking in key areas. Through one-on-one games, players will have the opportunity to practise these techniques in a competitive environment.

Day 3

Players will concentrate on tactical understanding and teamwork. The day will begin with drills focusing on positioning, communication, and decision making in both attack and defence. This will be followed by structured team drills to improve passing sequences, transitions, and set plays.

Each day will include small sided games, allowing players to put their new skills and techniques into practice whilst making friends and enjoying their hockey.

Discover Hockey at Westonbirt School is open to all. Active, seasonal fun for the adventurous!
